SALES DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE
WHAT DOES IT TAKE?
This is a full-time role based either in Zürich or remotely (person must be in the Schengen Area) for a Sales Development Representative. The role involves generating and qualifying leads, developing and maintaining client relationships, and conducting outreach to prospective clients. The candidate will actively support the sales team by identifying new business opportunities and collaborating on sales strategies to drive growth. Additional responsibilities may include preparing presentations, conducting research, and managing customer inquiries.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospecting & Research (Core Focus)
- Research and identify high‑potential accounts in aerospace, automotive, energy, energy and other industrial and consumer sectors.
- Map key stakeholders (technical, commercial, influencial) and understand their pain-points, requirements, workflows, tools, and challenges.
- Outbound & Inbound Lead Generation
- Run targeted outreach via HubSpot, email, phone, LinkedIn and other tools.
- Qualify inbound leads for technical fit, CAD environment, and relevance to spherene.
- Pipeline & Sales Support
- Schedule discovery calls and demos for AEs and SEs.
- Maintain a clean, accurate pipeline in HubSpot
- Cross‑Team Collaboration
- Partner with Product Marketing and Innovation to refine technical messaging.
- Share insights with Sales and Product based on prospect conversations and market trends.
- Market & Customer Insight Gathering
- Capture emerging use cases, industry pain points, and opportunities tied to CAD and additive manufacturing workflows.
- Brand Representation
- Represent Spherene confidently and professionally at trade shows, webinars, and industry touchpoints.



REQUIREMENTS
Must‑Have
-
2+ years of SDR/BDR experience in a B2B technical environment, ideally in engineering software, CAD/CAE, simulation, or industrial/3D‑printing technology.

Practical experience with CAD or CAE tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk, Rhino, CATIA, Siemens NX, nTop, Onshape, etc.).

Ability to communicate confidently with mechanical engineers, design engineers, additive manufacturing teams, as well as technical managers and decision‑makers.

Solid understanding of mechanical design or additive manufacturing workflows, including 3D printing or digital product development processes.

Comfortable engaging prospects through phone, email, LinkedIn, and industry events.

Experience working with CRM systems, ideally HubSpot.

Excellent Business English, written and spoken, with the ability to clearly articulate technical value to both engineering and executive audiences.
Nice‑to‑Have

Mechanical engineering background (degree or hands‑on industry experience).

Knowledge of additive manufacturing technologies (SLS, MJF, FDM, SLA, metal AM).

Experience selling into industrial, aerospace, automotive, or high‑performance product sectors.

Interest in generative design, topology optimization, lattice structures, or metamaterials.

Bachelor’s degree preferred (business, engineering, or related), though relevant experience is equally valued.

Comfortable with digital tools (CRM, LinkedIn, productivity apps) and a natural curiosity for technology.

Fluency in English (writing and speaking); German or additional European languages are a strong advantage.
