Spherene offers two ways to design optimized internal structures, and they are genuinely different products, not two versions of the same thing. The plugins live inside your CAD tool. sphereneNXT is a standalone platform in the browser. This article walks through the real differences, so you can see where each one fits.

 

Where it runs

The plugins run inside Rhino, Grasshopper, Autodesk Fusion, and nTop. You install the plugin into your CAD environment and work there, tied to that specific tool and its version and system requirements. The computation happens on your own machine, so heavier work asks more of your hardware.

sphereneNXT runs in the browser. There is nothing to install; it works on any operating system, and the computation happens in the cloud rather than on your workstation. Standard compute covers routine work, and HPC compute is there for the heavy jobs, without your local hardware being the ceiling.

What structures you can build

The plugins generate ADMS inside your CAD tool.

sphereneNXT offers a broader library. Alongside ADMS, it includes TPMS structures, with more infill options on the way. So instead of a single structure type, you get a range of options to match different parts and goals, all in one environment.

Which files you can bring in

Each plugin is bound to its own CAD environment. You work with the models native to that tool.
