Spherene for Rhino Tutorial 8: Sealing Your Part with Boundary

Boundary wraps your structure in a solid surface of the thickness you choose. Pick the whole shape and you get a closed shell with the lattice sealed inside.

In this video you'll learn how to:

  • Set the thickness of the surface that covers your structure
  • Choose your envelope as the boundary object to close the whole shape
  • Build a sealed shell around the lattice, useful for FDM printing
  • Use a clipping plane to look inside the finished, covered structure

Boundary turns an open lattice into a closed, printable part, though for SLS or SLA you'll want openings so powder or resin can escape.
