Spherene for Rhino Tutorial 5: Steering Your Channels with Surface Bias
A minimal surface splits your structure into two evenly sized channels. Surface bias lets you tip that balance, opening one channel up while tightening the other.
In this video you'll learn how to:
- Understand what surface bias does: shifting the minimal surface in the negative or positive direction
- Assign values from -1 to +1 at points across your part
- Open up the channels on one side while shrinking them on the other
- See the effect in the result, where volcanoes grow larger in one area and smaller in another
Surface bias is a small setting with a big visual effect, handy whenever one side of your structure needs more room to flow than the other.
